Group Committee

The Group Committee meets on the 2nd Monday of each month (except July), from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Please feel free to join us anytime. Check our calendar for details.

The Group Committee:

The 1st Uxbridge Group Committee is comprised of a Volunteer executive (Commissioner, Registrar, Treasurer, Secretary), Registered Group Members, Section Scouters, and a Sponsor representative. Parents are welcome and encouraged to join the Group Committee on occasion or as regular registered members. Many hands make lighter work!

The Group Committee is responsible for providing service and support to Section Scouters and ensuring for quality programs on behalf of Scouts Canada. Through the Group Commissioner, the Group Committee provides the administrative foundation for Section Scouters to do their job.

The Group Committee is the first level of service and support in Scouts Canada. The oversight that the committee provides impacts the safety and quality of our program by ensuring that we have the right people in the right place at the right time with the right equipment. Monthly Group Committee meetings are the main forum at which the Group Committee and Section Leadership can liaise, making representative attendance by Executive and Section Leadership essential for success.

In 1st Uxbridge, the Group Committee organizes a number of all-section initiatives including, but not limited to, Apple Day, All Sections Camp, Scout Trees, BP Day Service, Scout Popcorn, Fantasy of Lights.

How to Join Group Committee:

Talk to your Section Scouter or consult our events calendar to find out the time and location of the next Group Committee meeting. Or use the Contact Us form to let us know that you are interested in joining us. We'd love to see you there. If so inclined, you can become a registered member of the Committee by speaking with a member of the Group Committee executive at the meeting.
